Introduction to MEMS
Morphoaccess Enrolment & Management System

Most physical access control systems in use today are based upon tokens such as magnetic cards, identification numbers, and proximity cards. These tokens are sources of frequent security breaches, people can enter these systems with someone else's token. Sagem physical access control system eliminates this fraud by using biometric technologies e.g. automated devices designed to verify or identify people on the basis of their physical characteristics.
The MorphoAccess™ Enrolment and Management System (MEMS) offers the possibility to integrate a biometric solution in physical access control systems, at low cost and with very few modifications. The MEMS works with the MorphoAccess™ terminals, a wide range of physical access control devices capable of recognising fingerprints. All MorphoAccess™ terminals offer standard communication interfaces compatible with existing access control systems: Wiegand, DataClock, RS.232, RS.422 or TCP/IP.

• Connected with the MorphoSmart™, the MEMS enables to perform consolidated and optimised fingerprint captures.
• The MEMS controls the MorphoAccess™ terminals which are connected to MEMS, generates reports on people's passage and synchronises the MorphoAccess™ database with the central server database.
• In option, the MEMS can be based on a client/server architecture which provides the ability to centralise the database management and to dispatch the enrolment process to the clients.

MEMS key features
• Local or remote fingerprint enrolment thanks to the MorphoSmart™ 100 USB fingerprint sensor.
• Database: Microsoft Access or SQL server
• Client/server mode available with SQL server
• Administrator and operator right management
• Time zone management

• MorphoAccess™ terminals management:
- Database synchronisation
- Log retrieval

• Log includes:
- People passage: ID, date and time
- Time & attendance mode

• Multiple terminal group management
• Report generation.

Biometric features:
• Live controls related to the image quality and the finger positioning during enrolment
• Robust enrolment thanks to the consolidation of biometric template over three images
• Ability to tune the false acceptance rate according to the application security requirements
• Duplicate search during enrolment in order to avoid multiple identify referring to the same individual (Active MorphoKit™ Matcher)
Portrait capture:
•The MorphoPak™ package allows portrait capture with standard web cams and a specific camera.
Card features:
• Personalisation: the MEMS supports various kinds of printer
• Encoding: MIFARE® contactless smart cards are encoded with people credentials to allow 1:1 verification.
